Estate Planning Package
Our comprehensive estate planning package includes the following legal documents: revocable living trust; pour-over will; power of attorney; advance health care directive; and real estate transfer documents for your home into the trust. We can customize our services to meet your needs.
Revocable Living Trust
A revocable living trust allows you to name the beneficiaries who will receive your assets when you pass away, and enables them to avoid the cost and delay of probate. The trust is “revocable” because you can change it at any time. It is called “living” because you make it when you are alive. You will continue to have control over your assets while in trust and will see no difference in how you manage your financial affairs. Assets named in the trust are not subject to probate.
Pour-Over Will
Used with a revocable living trust, a pour-over will ensures that assets not transferred to your trust are distributed according to the wishes stated in the trust. If you have any minor children, a guardian is also named in the pour-over will.
Simple Will
If you do not own a home, a simple will may be sufficient. This document names an executor to distribute these assets to your named beneficiaries. A simple will can also designate a guardian for any minor children. However, a simple will must be probated.
Power of Attorney for Finances
A power of attorney enables you to authorize another person to handle your financial affairs if you become incapacitated.
Advance Health Care Directive
An advance health care directive allows you to authorize another person to make health care decisions if you become incapacitated. It also provides specific instructions about your preferences for health care, end-of-life decisions, organ donation, and other health-related issues.
